Day 6 began with chef John calling for “a day of peace and love”. Considering that even Janice was willing to give it a go, I thought for a millisecond that it might actually be possible. Yeah right.

The harmony lasted for a grand total of 12 minutes. John’s attempt at rapping didn’t go down too well with Rodney who said, “You can’t do that. You’re losing votes with you doing this. That’s what black people do.”

Rodney Marsh being controversial - never would have thought it.

Later Janice and Lynne departed for the bushtucker trial ‘Nip, Pluck’. Janice wasted no time in deciding that she would take the controls and lower Lynne into the pen of hungry ostriches to collect the stars. “I’ll drive, she’ll be plucked”.

After a slow start and much bickering, they finally got it together and came back with seven meals for the camp.

It was a quiet day for Cerys, but she did pipe up to have a whinge about the food. “I thought that when they said rice and beans that it would be like refried beans and nice rice. Like meals served”. Was she seriously expecting waiter service?

There were more fireworks when Lynne lost her red fleece and would not let anybody rest until she found it. When it turned up in Janice’s bed, Cerys was the first to guess that wind-up merchant Rodney might have been responsible (he was).

The flirting between Cerys and Marc seemed to have cooled, but I seriously doubt that this is the end of their ongoing saga. I only hope that Cerys continues to remind herself that Marc is taken, because his girlfriend seems to be the last thing on his mind.

Cerys escaped yet another bushtucker trial as mouthy Janice has been voted in yet again. She has been teamed with Rodney for her sixth trial ‘Catch a Crawling Star’. Tomorrow could be a hungry day.

So that was Day 6 in the jungle. I don’t know about you, but I can’t wait to find out what Day 7 will bring.
